Do they blame it on their own performance being lacking, or bad players? They point to specific examples of bad gameplay by this or that player. Look at all the posts by people who complain about losing. ![]() Truth is, people prefer not to lose, but the closer and more well-played the games, the less you mind losing them. Bad players don't play badly because they have bad stats, they get bad stats by playing badly. Eventually, you end up with the same spread that a skill-based MM would provide. If the game has 100k players, and the worst 1000 leave, then the next 1000 are the worst and they leave, I think you see where this is going.Īs the skill gap between the best and worst players closes, the gameplay tightens up, and fewer and fewer people leave.
